100 Coats of Makeup

OK, so the summer makeup world is full of fun. Aside from the super serious KatVonD/Jeffree Star drama that's happening right now, beauty bloggers and vloggers are having a good time.

One thing that's trending right now is the ridiculous 100 coats of makeup. It started with 100 coats of nail polish, where the nail looked like some weird Dr Seuss creature at the end. That inspired others to do their own version of 100 coats of... So I've collected a few of those videos here.

Remember, this is all in fun and makeup wearers/ MUAs don't *really* do this. It's just to be silly! I think I'm personally going to skip this bandwagon.

UPDATE!

Added Jenna Marbles' spoof of the "beauty trend" spoof:

100 Coats of Nail Polish

100 Coats of Foundation

100 Coats of Mascara

100 Coats of Liquid Lipstick

DIY Spa Day

I could use a relaxing spa day EVERY day. The fact is, I can barely manage some spa treatment time for me every few months. If I'm lucky. And the planets align.

When I do have an opportunity for relaxing spa time, you bet your pretty petunias I'm going to take advantage of that! My problem is, there is no way I could afford GOING to a spa. I mean a facial alone can be well over $100. There is most definitely a way I can recreate the spa experience myself and for much less.

Be prepared to spend some time alone, bathing and pampering yourself!

Spa Treatment Products I Recommend

Face

Brightening Facial: A facial mask will invigorate and hydrate your face, bringing back a healthy glow and helping you relax and recover from stress. Clearskin® Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask $6.99 OR Planet Spa Amazonian Treasures Hydrating Face Mask with Brazilian Acai and Berries $10
Spa Cost: $100+

Facial Hair Treatment: Remove unwanted facial hair with a cream or a wax. Skin So Soft Fresh & Smooth Moisturizing Facial Hair Removal Cream $6 OR  Skin So Soft Fresh & Smooth Moisturizing Facial Wax Strip Kit $12
Spa Cost: $15-$30+

Body

Exfoliate: Use a body scrub to exfoliate skin, and refresh your body. Planet Spa Perfectly Purifying With Dead Sea Minerals Body Scrub $12
Spa Cost: $50+

Moisturize: Enrich and restore your skin with a soothing moisturizer, like a body lotion or oil. Skin So Soft body lotions and oils - so many solutions and scents to choose from! $5 to $15
Spa Cost: $50+

Hands

Manicure: File your nails, care for your cuticles and polish with a trendy color. Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamel $6
Spa Cost: $25+

Moisturize: Massage a lotion into the dry skin on your fingers and hands. My personal favorite! Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Hand Cream $5
Spa Cost: $10+

Feet

Pedicure: Trim your toenails, and color them with a made to last gel polish. Gel Finish 7-in-1 Nail Enamel $7
Spa Cost: $35+

Smooth: Rub in a hydrating foot cream. Foot Works Beautiful Deep Moisturizing Cream $5 &
Spa Cost: $20+

Total cost for all of that pampering at a spa? Starting at $320, and could be much more depending on the spa!

Total cost if you do it in the comfort of your home? $75, and you can use the same products again next time you need a spa day! Check out my DIY Spa Day Pinterest board.

What's In My Order?

AVON truly does have something for everyone! Women, men, kids... there are so many great products to choose from and so many products you actually need and use! Shocking, isn't it?

So, here is what's in my order this week:

1. Glimmersticks.  4 for $10. This is an AMAZING sale for eyeliner! If you use eyeliner, this is the best time to stock up.

2. Bubble bath in Lavender Garden and Soft Pink.  I have a preschooler so of course I need to buy stock in bubble bath to keep up. We never have enough, and the lowest price I have been able to find locally is a generic Johnson's version at the dollar store and even then it gets used up so fast I feel like I have to buy it every other day. You can get deals from the 2 previous campaigns, so I went back one campaign to get these at 2 for $9.99. (Go to youravon.com/cheriefrid, and click on "Quick Item Entry". Then you can choose which campaign brochure, and enter the item # manually). That is 48 ounces of bubbly goodness. (It might last 2 weeks.)

3. Foot Brush.  This one is for my husband who really struggles with feet issues. He's been asking for a pumice stone for EVER!

4. Eyeshadow Quad in Glow Teal. A splurge for me; I love love love eyeshadow! More, please!

5. Nailwear Pro + in Sunshine. Because there is over 2 feet of snow outside and it's still coming down. I need some sunshine. (Not the color pictured, btw)

Nuclear Nails

I really struggle with painting my nails. This didn't turn put too bad considering it was $1 polish. I loved the name : Nuclear Energy.

Glaedelig Jul

I'm not particularly good at painting my own nails, but I'm trying! What better way to celebrate a Danish Christmas lunch tomorrow than with red and silver nails. Right?

Oooh, Shiny!

I am not very good at painting my own nails. It's unfortunate, really, because I do love wearing nail polish! I'm just not very skilled at it.

So I tried the AVON Metallic Effects nail enamel and decided to top the tips with AVON Dazzlers (available soon) sparkly shiny glittery goodness. The Metallic Effects are super smooth, easy to apply and looked really cool!

And now begins the epic struggle of trying to keep my nail polish ON my nails for longer than 24 hours.
